FIA Technology was founded in 2012 by two students from MIT with a mission of social and economic inclusion, livelihood empowerment and poverty alleviation. At MIT, the idea on ‘banking the unbanked’ was adjudged runners-up in the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Contest. FIA started its operations in August 2012 to tap the unbanked market in India. FIA rapidly grew to become one of the largest and most respected brands for Business Correspondent Services in the country.
FIA offers a comprehensive suite of financial services including account opening, payments, money transfers, global remittances, credit, insurance and mutual funds. FIA also has one of the largest rural distribution networks servicing 30 million customers.
FIA has a very committed and experienced team who has pioneered financial inclusion services in India. In the last 2 years, FIA has invested in machine learning and AI to develop technology solutions that fosters financial inclusion. FIA’s AI powered financial services platform FINVESTA aggregates, designs and delivers sachet financial products to low-income customers through its network of 25,000 inclusion centers.
FIA is committed to its task of minimizing exclusion – Social, Economic and Digital and are building the largest digital gateway in un(der)served geographies around the world.
